The Lizard Lounge Slam Team is taking over!!

The slam team will host a night with more poetry and more poets! We’re hoping to create additional opportunities for poets to share their work, offer more open mic space, and provide room for themed events, alternative formats, and exciting experiments.

Whether you’re a regular with a weekly seat or stepping down our stairs for the first time, we invite you to join as we celebrate how poetry challenges and connects us. Each Takeover will be a little different, but each time we’ll be booting Blake off the stage. Come see what happens when we hand the keys to the poets.

10/4: Feel Good Slam

Lizard Lounge Slam Team Takeover

Let’s come together for the Feel Good Slam and celebrate what makes the Lizard Lounge family so special—that feeling we all come back for. It’s a space to tap into your spirit, connect with your inner poet, and feel the embrace of your community. Join the Lizard Lounge Slam Team on Sunday, November 1, from 7–11 PM, for a night of poetry, gratitude, and connection. Bring your words, your energy, and your love for this family we’ve built together. Doors open at 7 PM.

P.S. Bonus points or bragging rights for poems that help someone improve their everyday life—from simple recipes and budgeting tips to buying a home or free activities that lift the spirit!
